The lessons in this course are presented in a mindful sequence and designed to be completed one at a time, at a weekly pace. However, if you find that one lesson per day or one lesson per month are more your pace, take the time you need.
Things you'll need:
- A quiet space - free from distractions
- A writing instrument
- Someplace to record your thoughts: I recommend a journal, or you may download my worksheet.
- A timer - most smartphone clock features have this function
Each lesson contains one #biglifequestion. Respond to the question with your most immediate thought first, without giving yourself a chance to think about it.
Then, set aside some silent time. For beginners, I recommend 5 minutes. Once you get accustomed to the silence, try increasing your time to 8 or 10 minutes. During this time, don't do anything that will distract your from the question at hand: no writing, whistling, social media, and certainly NO TALKING.
It's okay for your mind to wander, but remind yourself of the question and search yourself for an answer.
At the end of your silence, record your processed thoughts.
There are no right or wrong answers. And it's okay if your answer to the present question raises additional questions.
Remember that this is a journey you are taking toward a stronger relationship with yourself. Give yourself permission to heal the places that need to heal and celebrate the places that should be celebrated.
You owe this to yourself!
